Solar hydrogen

Convergent Research Team

Updated: Feb 26, 2020

In a world in which the population continues to grow, there is an equally strong need for sustainable energy supply. Martens’ and Taulelle’s team made a first in that respect: it developed a prototype of a solar panel that collects water vapor from the air and converts it into hydrogen gas in an energy-efficient way. That way, it pioneers with a new solar fuel concept and also opens up possibilities for better storing green energy. Hydrogen is generally regarded as a key energy source for the future because its production and consumption avoids CO2 emissions

"Of course, a lot of field and development work is still required, but by supporting the Convergent Research Team, you are already paving the way for this global game changer." - Prof. Johan Martens
