Climate change presents us with major problems, including drought and a lack of water. There too, the scientists from Leuven can offer relief. Thanks to their NMR methods of characterization, they have discovered unusual states of water when it is confined in pores. With this technology, they can extract water vapor from the atmosphere and convert it into clear water, which provides entire communities with water for drinking and irrigation. Moreover, for this, the people do not depend on anyone or anything since the panels work with total autonomy. They extract water vapor from the atmosphere using solar energy.

“Specifically, the Convergent Research Team will be able to attract the best scientists from different scientific fields and to purchase the latest research equipment. The team wants to award scholarships to talented students and researchers who can contribute to our project.” Prof. Johan Martens
